Methodology, Sources, & Privacy

The short version: almost everything stays on your device. We hold something that can identify you in exactly three cases—you save a deck, you buy a report, or you send us feedback—and this page lists every field, along with the anonymous usage counts we keep. No ads, no third-party trackers, no sale or sharing of your data, ever. As of 27 August 2026.

What stays on your device

Your quiz answers, drafts, results, and a partner’s answers on a shared computer live in your browser’s local storage; clearing your browser data erases them, and we hold no copy. One flow to know about: ranking countries sends your answers—weights, floors, budget, income, nationality, horizon—over an encrypted connection to our scoring engine, which computes your deck and keeps nothing: no store, no log of what you sent. Share links encode your answers and budget in the link itself—your income is never written into a link.

What we measure in aggregate

First-party usage events: which steps of the funnel were reached, whether the confidence labels were seen, whether the data shown was live or a preview, and which country cards were opened. Each event carries the page path, the referring site, and a short-lived session id that ties one visit together—no name, no account, no advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking, and we set no cookies today (our host, Cloudflare, may set strictly-necessary security cookies of its own). One honest edge: feedback you attach an email to is stored alongside that session’s events. We use these numbers to answer one question—does the instrument land—not to profile you.

What we store when you save a deck

Your email, the deck state you chose to save, a timestamp, and whether you opted into confidence-change notes. Your email is used to find your deck again and—only if you ticked the box—to tell you when the underlying data’s confidence changes. Nothing else. No newsletter, no marketing, no passing it on. Online deck-holding isn’t open yet—until the save form says otherwise, nothing is stored on our side.

What we store when you buy

Payment runs entirely through Stripe—card numbers never touch our systems. We keep your email, a reference to the run the purchase applies to, Stripe’s session reference, the purchase’s status, and a timestamp, so your report stays yours. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs the payment itself.

Feedback

If you type feedback into the product, the text and the email you optionally attach are stored so we can read and answer it. That’s its only use.

Erasure & your rights

For anything we hold (including EU/GDPR requests: access, correction, deletion), write to [email protected]. We hold so little that most requests resolve by deleting a single row, and we will confirm when it’s done. Self-serve erase links ship together with online deck-holding—every saved deck will carry one.

Terms, briefly

Atlas Resolve is decision support under uncertainty, not immigration, legal, tax, or financial advice. The confidence bands and the gaps are part of the answer—a score with “Low ±25” on its face means exactly that, and dated artifacts read the world as scored on their date, not afterwards. Verify pathway facts (fees, visa rules) against the official source before you rely on them; we link the sources for that reason.

The Household Decision Run is a one-time purchase of a dated report. If it doesn’t help you resolve the decision, full refund—no questions; and it can tell you to stay, which is a result, not a refund case. The service is provided as-is by a small operation that would rather tell you what it doesn’t know than pretend otherwise.

This page is updated whenever what we store changes; the date above is the version. Questions about the data itself belong on the methodology and sources pages.
